WinHost sales support takes place via email. I emailed WinHost on four consecutive days and had a response each time, though some answers were slow in arriving. Sales reps were thorough, well educated and didn’t try to upsell or convince me to buy. While I was impressed with the sales team as a whole, I was disappointed that some answers took more than 24-hours to reach me.

Support at WinHost comes by email or help desk. Representatives normally respond in only a few moments and are always quick and efficient. There is no phone or live chat support, though there is an active community forum where support questions are also addressed.

Signing up for a new hosting account with WinHost involves filling out an online order form and entering in your credit card details. The process was easy-to-complete and straight forward. My only gripes here are that PayPal was not accepted, and my welcome email and invoice took several hours to arrive. When handing over money online to strangers, even a legitimate company, that kind of wait can be nerve-wracking. To their credit, WinHost orders go through very rigid fraud prevention screenings, and this could easily have been the reason for the wait. Even so, it would have been nice to have received an invoice or acknowledgement of order immediately.

Reliability

I held an account with WinHost for a period of one year. I never had a spot of trouble with hardware and only suffered minor network latency issues on two occasions. My only complaint here is that WinHost does not notify customers when routine maintenance or reboots will be taking place. Customers must check the company forum for such news.

I was billed correctly by the WinHost billing department, never being charged for features or services I didn’t ordered. Cancelling a hosting account is just as simple.
