Signing up for an account with SingleHop involves filling out an online server customization form and then paying for services. My invoice and welcome letter arrived within moments of paying, and my server was completely setup and ready to use within a few hours. I even received a call from ServerHop to verify that I was satisfied with service thus far, and to let me know how I could reach support in the future. Perfect as can be!

SingleHop accepts major credit cards, PayPal and electronic checks. I had no issues with the billing department, but it would be nice to see them extend their billing hours. Currently, SingleHop’s billing department is only open 8am-8pm, Monday-Friday.

SingleHop’s cheapest server, a dual processor ATOM with 2 gigabytes of memory, CentOS, and five dedicated IPs runs $119/month. That’s a good deal by anyone’s standards. While hardware is cheap, some of SingleHop’s extras are on the weighty side: cPanel runs $19/month, backups are $10 and up, and on-demand firewall prices start at just under $40/month. If you’re tricking out your server with certain must-haves, SingleHop’s pricing structure is about average, but be careful with piling on the extras or you may be in for sticker shock.
